How do I know if they are sealed? When I removed the wall to wall carpeting there was paint, pet stains and goop which I scrapped down to the wood.

The fact that they are stained constitute a seal? Between rugs and furniture I just want to make the exposed areas look as nice as possible.

I found a wood floor rejuvenator that can be used, but they said the floor must be sealed. Help?

Stain sometimes does seal a floor and sometimes it doesn't. Put a little water on the floor. Does it bead up or instantly soak into the wood?
When you say you scraped the goop off down to the wood, I would say if they were sealed they aren't now.
I know the Rejunvenator sounds attractive. I have never heard of anyone really having a lot of luck with that. I've worked at Lowe's and Home Depot in the flooring dept. I've taken the time to read the process.
I had several people say it was more work than actually refinishing the floors and the results weren't really worth the effort. You might want to ask yourself, "Have they (whoever they are) actually used the product? or are they just looking to sell product?"
I've never personally recommended the product. Personally I think it's a product designed for the person who thinks "I don’t have the time or money to refinish them".
As far as this being a stupid question it isn't at all. As I said I have worked at both Home Depot and Lowe's in the flooring depts and I have had some interesting questions. I haven't been asked a stupid question yet. If you don't know ask.
