Stephen, There are five things to check out. First off call insurance companies that do commercial insurance. They insure schools and would know if any gym flooring was damaged and had to be replaced. Usually it is water damage of some kind that makes it necessary to replace a gym floor. Local flooring companies often look for companies or individuals that will remove gym flooring in exchange for the wood. Get on their list. Contact school athletic directors and ask if they are looking to replace their gym floor anytime soon. I just ran across this as well: Destruction of old high school information: The destruction of the old high school began in mid-June, 2004. Before the actual building was torn down, a salvage company removed the gym floor, part of the auditorium floor and other removeable items (i.e., some doors, door casings, etc). If anyone is interested in contacting the salvage company to purchase any of these items please contact Architectural Recovery, Inc., Attn: Craig Osbeck - (503) 312-3038 (Portland, OR).
