It's 12:38 AM and I can't sleep. I'm about to close on a house and will be installing a brazilian cherry floor. Two years ago I installed a floor but now I forgot some things. I wanted to read up and found your amazing website. It is refreshing to see that there are people like you in the world. If you have time I have a story similar to yours. After so many years of working in the business world I was tired. I started doing renovation on the house in which I lived. I didn't know anything about carpentry. I didn't own a hammer. I gave it a go. I remodeled a living room and added archways to every doorway. The final project was the cherry floor. I can honestly say that cherry floor changed my life. In the last two years I have: quit my office job, worked as a union carpenter, and just recently started a business with a partner. We do remodels and in the spring will build starter spec homes. In a way that cherry floor started my journey west to see over the horizon of my life.
